Bukit Tabur: From Stranger to Friends

This is going to be a pictorial post. During the Chinese New Year break, my sister and I decided to go up Bukit tabur. Not knowing where exactly it is, I took her to a wrong destination.

Frustrated, she took out her magic weapon (her smartphone) and took us to hike up the Tabur East. It was a long hike up and a long one down too. We went up at close to 10 am and came down at close to 3pm.

On our way up, we met a family. Nini, is a hiker and she brought along her mother and sister and a brother. What impressed me is that her mother, at 48 was hiking with us all the way to the peak of Bukit Tabur East. All praises is for Allah.

At this point we had to climb up the rope to get to the peak.

View of the dam from the peak.

 Going down from the peak.

At this point, we descend down all the way to the end. One will go pass by a few wooden houses before coming to the exit.

A Visit Long Due: Zoo Negara Malaysia

It has been ages since I have visited the Zoo Negara Malaysia.

One might wonder why visit the zoo, there are so many supermarkets unexplored?

Well, I am inclined to fresh air, lush greens and blue skies.

I can't really remember my visit to the zoo when I was younger but glimpses of it reminded me of KFC, ice cream and hot weather.

The weather hasn't changed much only it starts drizzling after half and hour reaching the zoo. I was among the first visitors; I came at 10am.

There was no KFC or ice cream but it's ok.

The entrance fees was RM32 and parking cost me RM5.50.

Entrance to Zoo Negara

The first animal I saw as I explored the left side of the zoo. Immediately it reminded me of Madagascar (the movie). So I did some sketching. The giraffe was moving around so I can't get the same pose as the one I had drawn.

A panoramic view of the lake. It was said that this is the spot where P. Ramlee shot some scenes of 'Masam-Masam Manis'. This is the spot where the hero and heroin dates.

As I was passing the tigers spots, I was wondering to myself, "What if the tigers jump". The management has placed man made lake between the viewers area and the dry land. Still, I wondered, "What if...".

The rest of the animals below were on the right side of the entrance. I spent close to three hours just watching the creation of Allah. It just amazes me to watch them up close. I was impressed by the monkeys and their stunt but could not get a picture of them.

This goat was very bossy. It actually drove all the other goats that were resting there (above picture) away.

The two deer were shy. I had to wait a while to capture these two pictures.
